Installation and application procedures
Article 1: Reasons and purposes for establishment
Mr. Wang Yufong has made great contributions to pioneering initiatives and cross-disciplinary interactions in the fields of STS research, heritage preservation in the industry, and museum studies. His work has been instrumental in establishing STS research in southern Taiwan, and extending it to the fields of heritage preservation and museum studies. Furthermore, during his tenure at the National Museum of Science and Technology, he actively organized academic seminars, lectures, workshops, workshops, research projects, book publications, and supported the publication of STS journals, building various platforms to enhance the convergence and interaction of the Taiwan STS community. He was also a significant contributor to the successful establishment of TaiwanTAIWAN STS ASSOCIATION’s STS community. However, due to ill health, Mr. Wang Yufong passed away unexpectedly in late 2007 at the age of 80.TAIWAN STS ASSOCIATIONIn order to commemorate Mr. Wang Yufong’s pioneering and important contributions to the development of STS in Taiwan, Taiwan established the “Wang Yufong Young Scholar Paper Award” to encourage young scholars to engage in STS research. We hope that in the future, we can continue the spirit of Mr. Wang Yufong and make STS take root and flourish in Taiwan.
Article 2: Regulations on the Source and Use of Bonuses
One, establish a dedicated fund account for the "Wang Yutong Young Scholar Paper Memorial Award," and award scholarships using the fund and its earnings. If there is a balance at the end of each fiscal year, it shall be added to the principal and not be used for any other purpose.
2. This fund's dedicated account is primarily used to raise funds.
3. The special account of this fund shall be recorded in the name of the association as a separate account, and the accounting shall be handled by the accounting personnel. Regular accounting reports shall be submitted.
Third Article: Awards and eligibility requirements for applicants
Within the two years before the deadline for submission, have published an STS-related paper in an academic journal with a review system; and all authors at the time of publication were assistant professors (or below).
Article 4 Award criteria
One: Number of awards: One.
2. Reward amount: NT$10,000.
Article 5: Requirements for Submissions, Award Criteria, and Recognition
I. Submission Time and Format: The Memorial Prize for this paper is submitted once every 2 years. Applicants submit the published paper and application form.
2. Award Criteria: The Association’s organizing committee for the paper award will decide the winners. The organizing rules for the paper award committee will be established separately.
3. The results of the selection are announced on the association's website; the awardees are publicly presented with awards by the chairman at the annual meeting.
Article 6 This regulation shall be implemented by the Association’s Board of Directors, and additional implementing regulations shall be established.
Article 7 This policy shall be implemented after it is approved by the Board of Directors and Supervisory Board, and the same shall apply to any amendments.
Execution guidelines
I. Awarding Time: The commemorative award for this paper will be awarded at the annual meeting.
2. Selection Committee: The association appoints two to three members of its members to form the “Paper Award Executive Team” to handle matters such as announcing the results and organizing the selection committee. The executive team also invites five to seven relevant experts and scholars to form the “Wang Yutong Young Scholar Paper Award Selection Committee,” of which the association’s members must account for at least half.
3. Application period: June 1st to October 31st.
4. Announcement: The “Paper Award Implementation Team” of this association must notify all members of the association and publish it on the association’s website, and may also request other relevant authorities to publish it.
5. Selection Method and Mechanism: The implementation team, based on the nature of the submitted manuscripts, will form a “selection committee” after the deadline for submission, and complete the selection work within two months.
